Santosh and Revati are themselves evolved homeowners with a strong aesthetic sensibility. They had definite ideas for what they wanted and thus it was a very collaborative project at the end we have a classic and elegant take on European country interiors.
We start in the foyer area where we have created a partition to separate the entrance from the #dining area. The partition has the showcase a small sitting area and some display racks idea for artifacts and books. On the other side of the bookcase is the dining area with and unique modular table which can serve just 4 or can be expanded to server 6 to 8 people. One of the highlights of the dining table is the leather bench that has been used as sitting table. The ceiling in the living area has been kept as straight line the highlight being the European moulding detailing which we will find all across the apartment.
To give the living room a contemporary European look we have gone for a weathered leather finish sofa, along with are a couple of armchairs with refreshing and soothing ice blue swede, the coffee table is an old iron cum leather chest of drawers which has ample storage space. In keeping with the theme the walls behind the sofa has the same mouldings as the ceiling. On the opposite wall the media unit has been kept minimalist and in white with a classic wallpaper to make it the accent wall in the room.
The kitchen is very modern in its functionality, the appliances, soft closures, lots of storage space etc. but by the look it is more old country style with the teal blue finish and the complete white quartz counter. Santosh like many IT people in Bangalore works from home so we created a separate partition and divided the bedroom into a sleeping area and study area so that he can use this space as his work area.
The ceiling in the bedroom is much like the living room simple yet classy with the mouldings. The head panel of the bed is a standout element it has double mouling detailing along with a classic gothic motif moulding. On the opposite side the media unit is simple with a bit of storage. The wall that has the TV unit is asn unique shade of olive green. The wardrobe is unique as in it has the classic rattan finish but this is faux rattan which makes it is easy to clean and maintain and end of the wardrobe we have created a dressing area with a full mirror.
The guestroom has a classic murphy bed with a padded headboard which easily operable by either one or two pair of hands. On top we have some shelve space which once the bed is closed stays as it is making it extremely space saving. Hope you enjoyed this trip!! Have a look a some of our other projects.
