The home we are showcasing today is one of our favourite projects and belongs to a lovely young couple whose sense of aesthetics helped us to create this beautiful Kerala style home. Interior design is extremely personal and needs to understand your needs and choices before designing. It takes you away from the bustling city life to the serenity of Kerala and its natural beauty in the second part we review the beautiful ethnic Pooja area with heavy wooden pillars that have intricate carving designs the exclusive customised for your piece made with red polish and golden accents has been paired with a similar unit in the Puja area.
The scent of aged wood and the warm glow of a setting sun some houses don’t just sit on a plot of land; they breathe with the history of the people inside them. When we first sat down with this young couple, they didn't just ask for pretty rooms. They asked for a place that felt like "home", a sanctuary where they could leave the busy world behind and finally be themselves.
We began by looking at how they would actually live in these rooms. In the main hall, the high wooden rafters aren't just architectural features, they create a sense of shelter and grandeur that makes you want to exhale and stay a while. We designed the wooden slatted partitions to act as a gentle boundary, allowing them to be in different rooms, perhaps one reading by the brick wall and the other at the dining table while still feeling each other’s presence.
We believe that a home should tell a story through its textures. To honor their roots, we integrated hand-painted traditional tiles into the risers of the staircase, turning a simple climb into a journey through art. The Pooja space, framed by an ornately carved dark wood portal, is a showcase of a silent sentinel of peace, offering a place to pause and pray.
From the vibrant, multi-tiled cabinet that splashes color across the hallway to the weathered red console that leans against a rugged stone-cladded wall, every piece of furniture was curated to feel like a found treasure. As they are the backdrop to their future anniversaries, morning coffees, and the quiet comfort of coming home.
As an interior design company, our journey with this couple was deeply personal. We didn't just want to hand over a set of keys; we wanted to hand over a legacy. This house shows an idea that heritage doesn't have to be heavy or old-fashioned. It can be light, airy, and full of love.
